Renowned singer and composer from Nigeria, Timi Dakolo was born on January 20, 1981. Because he won the reality television competition Idols West Africa in 2007, he became well-known. Humberto Gatica, who has won 16 Grammy Awards (Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion), has dubbed him “the golden voice of Africa.” He is currently a Nigerian sensation.
Timi was raised primarily by his grandmother in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, after his mother passed away when he was 13 years old. His parents were both from Ghana—his father was from Nigeria and his mother was from Ghana—and he was born in Ghana. He learned to enjoy singing from his grandmother. From the University of Port Harcourt, he obtained a degree in communication studies.
Timi started singing at church when he was twelve years old. He has advanced to become one of the greatest in the music industry from being a founding member of the Purple Love singing group to being a local talent champion (G.E FACTO).
His debut album, “Beautiful Noise,” which he published in 2011, garnered favorable reviews and had passionate songs and meaningful sounds. Timi’s second album, “Merry Christmas, Darling,” is a great compilation of sentimental Christmas carols supported by the London Symphony Orchestra. In “Merry Christmas, Darling,” Timi’s distinctive voice is mixed with some of the best classical music ever composed.
His track “Everything (Amen),” which was published in February 2021, has received millions of plays on digital media.
