Paul Adams (born January 28, 1957) is a Nigerian Nollywood actor, producer, graphic artist, and show host.
The Edo native is also a screenwriter, scriptwriter, film director, and producer.
Paul Adams had a successful career in journalism, where he worked as an illustrator for the country’s biggest journals and newspapers.
Early Life
Paul Adams was born in Nigeria three years before the country’s independence. On January 28, 1957, he was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adams. He was born in Benin City and is an Edo State native.
Paul Adams is an Edo native who speaks his native tongue proficiently. His parents nurtured him in the Christian religion and he comes from a middle-class family. As a young child, he lived in a middle-class district in Benin City.
His acting career began when he and his classmates were escorted to the then-Nigerian Television Service (now Nigerian Television Authority) to perform in children’s plays. He also participated in theatrical organizations at both his secondary school and university.
Despite being born and raised in Edo State, Paul Adams moved to Lagos as a young man to pursue higher education. He moved to the Mainland of Lagos after finishing his studies at a higher institution in Lagos.
Education
Paul Adams attended Edo State’s top public schools for elementary and secondary schooling.
He graduated from high school with strong WAEC grades. Following that, he chose to further his study and was accepted into a university in southwestern Nigeria.
Paul Adams attended Yaba College of Technology in Lagos. At the university, he studied Graphic Design.
Career
Although Paul Adams had performed in children’s plays as a child, he did not enter the acting industry until he graduated from a higher education school. After appearing in a church drama, Jesus The Light Of The World, he began to take acting seriously. The drama was directed by Ime James. Patrick Doyle, a friend and fellow actor, attended the occasion.
Patrick Doyle praised his performance and introduced him to filmmaker Zeb Ejiro. He quickly landed a role in Zeb Ejiro’s blockbuster series Ripples. Because of his success in Ripples, he was cast in another TV series called Checkmate. The popular series was created by Amaka Igwe. Following that, he appeared in a number of soap operas and Nollywood films.
Paul Adams has had a great career in journalism as well. He began his career in media as an illustrator for Newswatch Magazine. He eventually left Newswatch to work for a number of news publications before getting a position with Vanguard Newspaper. He was the Vanguard’s Cartoon Editor for ten years before retiring. In 1999, after leaving journalism, he made his debut film, Shackles. He wrote the screenplay for the film. He also developed Lifestyle, a drama series that aired on Africa Magic in 2007.
Paul Adams created the 13-episode series NERSA WATCH in 2014. It is a creation of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency for environmental activism.
Paul Adams is one of Nigeria’s most prominent professional actors. He has worked as a cinema and stage actor for almost three decades. He has appeared in a number of television shows, films, and theatrical plays.
