One of Nigeria’s top rappers, songwriters, and content producers is Aboriomoh Femi Raymond (born August 26, 1993), better known by his stage name Dremo.
The 29-year-old is a signed musician to the top record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), where he collaborates with performers like Liya, Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Davido.
He is a brilliant musician who, since being signed by Davido in 2016, has put out a number of successful tracks.
Early Life
Mr. and Mrs. Aboriomoh, Dremo’s Yoruba parents, gave birth to him in 1995. In a private hospital in Benin City, Edo State, he was born on August 26.
Femi Raymond is his name. Before his parents relocated to the city of Ibadan to establish a new home, he spent his formative years there.
Dremo was raised by Christian parents who instilled in him a respect for authority figures and moral principles. Along with his siblings, Dremo developed a passion for music as he was growing up, which led him to join the choir at his church.
Dremo accelerated his musical education by listening to music of all kinds, creating rap songs, and honing them in the comfort of his bedroom. Dremo had a strong passion for music.
Encouraged by his small victories, he made the audacious decision to record some of his songs. He created his first mixtape with the help of a local music producer, which he played for his loved ones and friends to hear.
Education
An elementary school in Benin City awarded Dremo his First School Leaving Certificate.
He then completed his secondary schooling at a prestigious private school, where he received high scores and graduated.
Career
Despite having natural musical skill, Dremo knew he had to put in a lot of effort before he could succeed in the business. He continued to work hard, spending the most of his time in the studio making music and giving performances on the campuses of southwest Nigerian schools.
Dremo’s perseverance paid off in the end, as he managed to escape Davido’s notice. Soon after meeting him, Davido recruited him to his newly established music label, DMW.
Dremo has released numerous hit songs since signing a record deal with DMW. On their songs, he has also worked with a number of well-known figures in the field. Artists like Ichaba, Peruzzi, Yonda, Ceeza Milli, Zlatan Ibile, Mayorkun, Davido, Liya, Sarz, D’Tunes, Don Jazzy, Maleek Berry, Speroach Beatz, Fresh VDM, Tee Bee, Falz, and Chinko Ekun are just a few of the names he has collaborated with.
Iro Nla, Who, Next Single, That Way, Bigger Meat, Bang, Oluwa Babanla, Turn Up, Ojere, Fela, and many others are just a few of his well-known songs.
Dremo just made the decision to pursue acting, and he has been posting little videos on Instagram. The humorous videos highlight Dremo’s sense of humor and help him establish a connection.
Awards and Nominations
In 2016,Dremo won the City People Music Award for Rookie Of The Year. In addition, he went home with the Nigerian Teen Choice Award for Choice New Hip Hop Act that same year.
