Early Life & Education
Darkovibes, also known as Andrew Paul Nii Amu Darko, was born on March 14, 1995, in Ghana. His family is the subject of a lot of information.
The musician genuinely discovered his niche in the music industry after spending time with his friend and producer, Vacs, who worked at a studio in Mallam.
They spend enough time learning about music and other musical genres, like rap. Darkovibes then made the decision to differentiate themselves from other artists by writing songs that combined Ga, Twi, English, and Pidgin. Twi and Ga are dialects from Ghana, hence he ran into resistance from his instructors and peers.
Producer Magnom noticed him since he surmounted all challenges and persisted in his choice. The two collaborated on a couple songs for the MTN pulse marketing campaign. He started catching the attention of people like Ayigbe Edem, Joey B, and numerous more.
The performer has suffered just as much as anyone else. Darkovibes recalls how, in the beginning, he had been asked to perform on campus, but the organizers of the event had declined him since they didn’t know him.
To be successful in the music industry, he also spent three years sleeping in a studio. While working long hours to support his family, he avoided his loved ones.
Career
In 2012, Darkovibes began working with the music producer Vacs, who first guided his musical career and assisted him in establishing himself as an artist.
Since then, he has worked with various musicians, artists, and celebrities on fashion and music projects in Ghana and other African nations.
He received a nomination for the 2017 Ghana Music Awards in the category of hip-hop song of the year for his work on Edem’s hit song “Egboame” the Remix. In 2016, he worked with MTN Ghana to write and perform the anthem for the MTN Pulse Campaign.
He collaborates with Kiddblack, Nxwrth, RJZ, $pacely, and KwakuBs as well as the other La Même Gang members. La Meme Gang released their first collaborative studio tape, La Meme Tape, in 2017.
Darkovibes was one of a select group of artists picked by Vogue Magazine UK to describe his style in music and fashion during Ghana’s yearly art and cultural event, “Chalewote,” in 2017.
