NAFDAC discovered an illegal alcohol production factory worth N200 million in Lagos Island

NAFDAC discovered an illegal alcoholic beverage production facility in Lagos State’s Lagos Island area.

Thorough surveillance by officers uncovered makeshift factories for alcoholic drinks at several packing stores and rooms in the Oke-Arin market.

2,000 cartons of empty bottles and packaged drinks, an improvised filter, a mini plastic mixing tank, and assorted packaging materials were confiscated during the raid. Mr Ikenna Daniel Ndeka, Innocent Chike, and Chukwu John were apprehended for conducting an illegal operation.

The agency values the confiscated goods at N200 million. The public was encouraged to stay alert, particularly when buying alcohol.

The investigation continues, with the suspects to be prosecuted upon its completion.
