Simi – Stranger

Amazing Nigerian nightingale, Simi is a well-known singer-songwriter and media personality who has just released a melodic track called “Stranger.”

SIMI stands for the Students Islamic Movement of India. It was a radical Islamist organization that operated in India. SIMI was founded in April 1977 with the stated objective of promoting Islamic awareness among Indian students and mobilizing them for Islamic causes. However, over time, the organization became more radicalized and was involved in various unlawful activities.

SIMI was known for its involvement in acts of violence, and terrorism, and for promoting extremist ideologies. It was banned by the Indian government in September 2001 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, which declared it an unlawful association. The ban was implemented due to SIMI’s involvement in terrorist activities and its links to other extremist organizations.

The organization was implicated in several terrorist incidents, including bombings, communal riots, and recruitment of individuals for militant activities. SIMI was known to have connections with other international extremist groups and was accused of promoting and supporting global jihad.

In February 2019, the Indian government extended the ban on SIMI for an additional five years, citing its continued involvement in subversive activities. It is important to note that my knowledge cutoff is in September 2021, so I may not have the most up-to-date information on SIMI beyond that point.
