Rexxie is from Anambra State, which is an Igbo ethnic state in Nigeria.
Rexxie is well recognized as the creator of the current “Zanku Sound,” which is used by various top Nigerian musicians and producers to create their music.
Early Life
Rexxie was born in Anambra State but spent his childhood in Lagos and Abuja. He was born into a family of three, and he is the firstborn to his mother and father.
He spent the majority of his youth in Shomolu and Akoka, where he became acquainted with the Yoruba cultural.
Educational Background
Rexxie attended primary school in Lagos before moving to Abuja for secondary school.
He went to Government Secondary School, Garki in Abuja, where he discovered music.
Rexxie earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Tai Solarin University of Education in Ije Ode, Ogun State.
Career
Rexxie was the music perfect while being a complete member of the School band at Government Secondary School, Garki in Abuja in 2010.
Prior to this time, Rexxie had been playing the Keyboard in Church Choir. This aided his musical journey much further.
Rexxie, as the Music Perfect and a member of the school band, performs covers of popular and trendy songs, causing him to make a move in order to learn how popular songs were created. As a result, he began self-teaching himself about music creation.
He returned to Lagos to pursue music full-time. In Lagos, Rexxie created several songs for emerging musical artists, which aided in the development of his music production talents.
In March 2018, Rexxie created a sound with the intention of playing it for CDQ, but he was unable to make the connection because CDQ was a well-known figure who was difficult to approach.
He met new artist Zlatan Ibile, to whom he presented the rhythm, and the result was Jogor, on which Zlatan featured Naira Marley and Lil Kesh.
Rexxie produced a few beats for Lil Kesh and Naira Marley, resulting in Jakpa for Naira Marley, Again O for Lil Kesh, and Illuminati by Zlatan, which included Naira Marley.
Rexxie’s most notable creation was the Able God beat he created for Chinko Ekun, which included Lil Kesh and Zlatan. The tune became a national anthem across the country and went on to win the Headies award for best street hop, with complete production credited to Rexxie.
Since then, Rexxie has been releasing hit after success, cementing his place as one of Nigeria’s youthful, fast-rising producers.
