After months of dropping hints about a follow-up project, Oxlade published his second EP, named Eclipse. One of the biggest songs of 2021, Ojuju, can be found on the EP. The song Ojuju gave the performer a second entrance on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and spent more than five weeks there.
A successful song by Dolapo called “Interest” featured Oxlade and Ms Banks earlier in 2021. The track was made available in January 2021. Months after collaborating with Ice Prince on the song Kolo, which was released in March 2021, he landed his second collaboration.
Oxlade has participated in a number of live performances across Africa, North America, and Europe. He gave a performance at Davido’s City Of David Concert in Lagos in December 2018. He performed at the London Starboy Fest in 2019 as one of Wizkid’s opening acts.
Want You is the singer’s first single for 2022. The music was made available on March 18th. Within days of its debut, the song had millions of streams.
Despite the opposition of his father, Oxlade began studying music in secondary school and continued until he was accepted into the Lagos State University.
Like many other Nigerian musicians, Oxlade began his career in the church with creative videographer Naya Effects, where he quickly rose to the position of junior choir master.
He received criticism from his maternal uncles for writing secular music. This had a big impact on his church athletics as well. Two years after enrolling in the history and international relations department at LASU, he left. This action didn’t sit well with his father, who stopped granting his requests as a result. Prior to Blaqbonez discovering his previously released song “Sour” and deciding to collaborate with him, he had already stopped recording and was on the verge of giving up on music.
