Teni Makanaki is an artist, songwriter, and singer. Her real name is Teniola Apata.

She gained notoriety with her track Wait, but her moment in the sun came when she was acknowledged as the songwriter of a song for Davido, a superstar.

Early Life

There isn’t a lot of information available about Teni’s early life, however it is known that the singer was born on December 12, 1992.

She was born in Lagos State, in the southwest of Nigeria. She was a natural-born member of the Simeon Apata family.

Simeon Apata, her father, was allegedly shot dead in cold blood by unidentified assailants in the first few days of January 1995.

Niniola, her sister, is a singer and songwriter as well.

Education

Teni spent many years attending the Apata Memorial High School, which her late father owned and where she completed both her primary and senior schooling.

She attended American Intercontinental University in the USA to earn a degree in Business Administration after earning her first school living certificate and the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

Career

Teni began her musical career and was signed by Shizzi’s Magic Finger Records, a renowned producer in 2016.

She then signed with Dr. Dolor Entertainment Records in 2017 and began working with some of the label’s artists as a play-up.

Teni began by experimenting with freestyle music on Instagram. Her top-charting song Fargin launched her into the spotlight because it was well-received and adored by a broad spectrum of music fans.

In addition to writing a song for the DMW founder, Teni has released a ton of amazing songs, including Billionaire, Wait, Askamaya in 2018, Super Woman, Sugar Mummy in 2019, and a ton more.

Personal Life

In a recent interview, Teni shared her dating status. confirming that she just has music as her lover. She made hints about her optimism and desire to someday start a family of her own.

She continued by saying that her profession, which is her main goal, comes before everything else right now, even romance.

She expressed her astonishment at her recent progress while promising she would improve and always make her supporters happy.
