Yemi Eberechi Alade, better known by his given name Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian activist, singer-songwriter, actress, and afropop performer.
Her debut single, Johnny, released by Efizzy Records, launched her into the public eye.
Background
Yemi Alade was reared by both of her parents, James Alade (the father) and Helen Uzoma (the mother), in a multi-tribal family in Nigeria where she was born.
Her mother Helen Uzoma is an Abia State native, while her father James Alade is a Yoruba and Igbo native of Ondo State in Nigeria, where he served as commissioner of police. Yemi Alade has acknowledged that she is fluent in both of her parents’ languages.
She was born on March 13th, 1989.
Education
Yemi Eberechi Alade spent 6 years at Victory Grammar School in Ikeja, Lagos, completing her secondary education. She then went to the University of Lagos to earn a degree in geography.
Career
When Yemi Eberechi Alade first entered the music industry, she was a student at the University of Lagos.
King of Queens, her debut album, was released on October 2nd, 2014. Many well-known musicians and producers, including Young D, Selebobo, Mr. Chidoo, Philikeyz, Fliptyce, Beat Nation, and a select few more, collaborated on the album.
Her first album didn’t come out until after the success of her smash singles Johnny, Kissing, and Tangerine. Phyno, Chidinma, Bovi, Selebobo, R2Bees, and Diamond Platnumz were among the guests at The Singles. Her trip of South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya was intended to promote her most recent record.
Yemi Alade announced the release of her second album, Mama Africa, on March 25, 2016, over two years after the debut of her first. The album contains a song that highlights the weaknesses and strengths of African women.
The album incorporates elements of pop, hip-hop, R&B, Afropop, and highlife. Yemi Alade has acknowledged that the album’s recording was challenging due to her daily travels to several nations. She added that she wanted to “capture all of Africa on a CD” when she made the album.
Yemi Alade told The Fader magazine that she collaborated with musicians from South Africa, East Africa, and West Africa. For the album’s delivery, she hired GospelOnDeBeatz, Selebobo, DJ Coublon, Philkeyz, BeatsByEmzo, Rotimi Keys, Masterkraft, and Mr. Chidoo.
Sarkodie, P-Square, Sauti Sol, Dj Arafat, Rotimi Keys, Flavour N’abania, and Selebobo were all welcome to make guest appearances at Mama Africa.
Black Magic, Yemi Alade’s third studio album, was released on December 15, 2017. The album was a follow-up to her 2017 EP Mama Africa and featured guest appearances from Falz and Olamide.

She was a featured artist on the Make The Future campaign run by Shell Company in Nigeria before to the release of her third album. Yemi Eberechi Alade achieved a million YouTube subscribers, becoming the first of her sort from Africa.
Her fourth album, Woman of Steel, was released on August 30, 2019. “Buffet With Different Kinds of Meals and Drinks,” she called the record. Her fierce desire to command the same respect as the men is reflected in the song.
After realizing she was a superhero in her own right, she released the album.
Alade has received far too many contracts and ambassadorships from many brands and businesses in recent years and has inked license agreements with numerous enormous corporations, including UMA and UMG.
On August 5, 2020, Yemi Eberechi Alade released True Love, another number-one single that was written and produced by Vtek.
