Runtown is the stage name used by Douglas Jack Agu (born August 19, 1989) in the music industry.
He is a 33-year-old, well-known Nigerian producer, songwriter, and vocalist of Afrobeats music.
After releasing his debut song, Gallardo, with Davido, he quickly gained notoriety in the business.
Runtown released his debut album, Ghetto University, along with the tracks For You and Crazy Over You as a follow-up to the single.
Early Life
On August 19, 1989, Mr. and Mrs. Agu’s family gave birth to Runtown. He is an Igbo boy from the state of Enugu. He spent his first few years on earth in his parents’ home. But after his father passed away, he relocated to the capital city of Abuja with his mother. Mrs. Agu, his mother, worked at the Ministry of Health.
Before relocating to Lagos when his mother was relocated again, Runtown briefly resided in Abuja. In Lagos, he completed his primary education. On the mainland of Lagos, he and his mother led a rather good existence.
He earned a degree from a prestigious private secondary school in Lagos with honors. After that, he pursued a degree at a renowned institution of higher learning in Southern Nigeria.
From a young age, Runtown realized that music was his career, and he worked hard to advance in the field.
Career
The success of Runtown’s first single, Gallardo, propelled him into the public eye. Superstar musician Davido contributed vocals to the tune, which helped Runtown land a record deal with Eric Manny Entertainment and other performing opportunities.
This was so popular that it took home the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards’ Collaboration Of The Year trophy. He released his debut album, Ghetto University, in 2015 after spending months working diligently in the studio.
Runtown was the buzz of the business at the tail end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017. This was a result of his song Crazy Over You’s popularity when it was published on November 4th, 2016.
The gifted singer has informed his followers that he will soon be releasing a new album. The record bears the name Soundgod Reloaded. In September 2020, one of the album’s songs, Kini Problem, was made available. Tradition is another song he released in 2020.

On August 19, Runtown celebrated his 33rd birthday. He has homes in both Nigeria and the United States, where he also has nice residences and expensive cars.
Before, Runtown had a committed relationship with South Sudanese model Adut Akech. The pair, however, broke up in July 2021 due to irreconcilable issues.
Runtown is not only a musician, but also an investor in a number of Nigerian small businesses. This enables him to make a sufficient amount of money to support his opulent way of living.
