Ugochi Onuoha is Guchi’s birth name. She spent the majority of her early years in the economic hubs of Abuja and Lagos after being born on November 5th, 1997, in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Nigerian singer and songwriter Guchi.

Imo State is Guchi’s home state. She is one of four children; she is the second child. She began studying at the Edo State University in Ekpoma but left early. For a degree in theater and media arts, she was accepted into the University of Lagos.

Guchi’s passion of music is influenced by her father’s taste in music. She learned as a child that her father loved Michael Jackson songs and, after joining the choir, made the decision to start writing music.

Her time as a chorister made her musical talent clear. She gained notoriety after she published the song “Addicted” in 2019; the song is now receiving a lot of views on YouTube. Matt Max was the director of this song.

Shortly after, she released Closer, which was produced by Sifu Sounds and featured graphics by Visionary Pictures for the popular song. Her ability to perform in the Afropop, R&B, Dance-hall, and High-life genres set her apart from many other young yet promising musicians of the day. PG Records Entertainment is Guchi’s current label.

Since she rose to fame, Guchi has recorded a variety of songs. No Be Jazz, Bang It, Bitter Sweet, Love, Addicted, Closer, and others are among them.
