One of Afrobeats’ most prominent ambassadors, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji (born March 15, 1989), has contributed to the development of the genre’s culture on a global scale.

The top Nigerian artist, also known by the stage names Olamide or Olamide Baddo, performs as a singer, rapper, and music executive.

Olamide, who specializes in Yoruba rap, became well-known after his hugely popular debut studio album, Raspodi, was released in 2011. He then released YBNL, a fantastic album that features hit singles like Stupid Love, Voice Of The Street, and Ilefo Illuminati.

The talented performer, who can rap in both Yoruba and English, founded and is the owner of YBNL Records, which has given birth to other well-known musicians like Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Lyta, Limerick, Temmie Ovwasa, Chinko Ekun, Yomi Blaze, Picazo, Asake, and Viktoh.

Famous Nigerian rapper and lyricist Olamide Adedeji is from the country’s hip-hop scene. He goes by the names “Olamide Baddo,” “Baddo Sneh,” or simply “Olamide.”

He founded the YBNL Nation, a free record label bearing the names of a few prominent Nigerian music stars. Olamide is a celebrated Nigerian rapper who sings in his native Yoruba.

Olamide’s career began to take off while he was still affiliated with ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Records. In 2011, he released Raspodi, his commercially successful debut album under Coded Tunes. Omo To Shan, the album’s lead single, helped establish Olamide as the new king of Indigenous Rap (Yoruba). The song also paved the way for more incredible industry partnerships with well-known artists like D’banj, Reminisce, 9ice, and Wizkid.

Olamide’s sophomore album, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), was recorded and released in 2013 with the help of producers ID Cabasa, Samklef, Pheelz, and 2kriss. Some of the most respectable artists in the business, including Dammy Krane, Kayswitch, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Reminisce, collaborated on the project.

The following year, Olamide released his third album in a similar fashion. In November 2013, the project titled Baddest Guy Ever Liveth was made public. Twelve of the 13 tracks on the project were produced by Pheelz, and guest performers included celebrities like Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Viktoh, Phyno, and Bez.

Eleda Mi O, Yemi My Lover, Durosoke, and Turn Up are just a few of the album’s top-charting singles. It won Best Album Of The Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Additionally, the album won Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album at The Headies in 2014.

The follow-up to Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, Street OT, was released on November 14th, 2014. It is Olamide’s fourth studio album and features hit singles like Story For The Gods and Goons Mi. A group of unconventional sound producers, including Young John, Pheelz, and B-Banks, contributed to its creation.
