Abdul Kabir Olakunde, commonly called Kabex (or Emini Kabex), is a 26-year-old Nigerian rapper. He is quickly gaining popularity by rapping in his native Yoruba language. He finished his studies in Political Science at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in Nigeria. Kabex is famous for his amazing freestyle skills and shares his work on Instagram.
Music Job:
While studying Political Science at the University of Ilorin, Kabex was really interested in his rap career. He showed this by posting a lot of freestyle rap videos on Instagram with cool rap lines. He is said to have started making music when he was very young, and he kept chasing his dream. He worked on his music while studying, balancing both.
Disagreement (Conflict with Jaido P)
In one of his rap freestyles, Kabex called out rappers who have started singing. In an interview with Naijaloaded, he said that rappers should not become singers; they should support and protect the rap music that they say they love. Many rappers did not like what he said because they felt offended. This caused a lot of comments from both musicians and fans, criticizing his opinion.
Besides saying he’s the best indigenous rapper, he claimed that no one in the industry can beat him in rap battles. This got Jaido P’s attention, and he quickly went to the studio to make a diss track called “Construction. ” People are saying that the diss track by Jaido P was partly written by Davolee. Davolee was one of the main targets in Kabex’s freestyle, where he criticized rappers who have switched to singing. Kabex quickly responded to the diss track with his song “Jalopi (Jaido P’s Diss). ” Fans of the music are unsure who to choose as the winner between the two.
